Project: AFT ER Gensys Module – Fuel Pack Upgrade System and MGO Fuel lines modification

Project Overview: Mechanical & Electrical Installation for AFT Engine Room Gensys Module & MGO Fuel Lines Modification

Project Length: 5 weeks

Project Location: Sailing project onboard a cruise ship

Project Highlights:

Mechanical Installation for the AFT Engine Room Gensys Module:

  • Set up Fabrication area, by covering the space with the necessary protection.
  • Remove existing the Boiler Module and relocate the Supply and Ignition Oil Pumps Outboard on the AFT Purifier Room (material to be supplied by APM)
  • Install Dn65 Pipework from Tank 8c to the AFT Purifier Room (Suction line to the Gensys Module Pump) with 3 Dn80 Sch80 Penetrations Sleeves + Dn65 SDNR Valve + Dn65 Quick Closing Valve (Pipework on the AFT Purifier Room to the Pump to be completed by Gensys)
  • Install Dn40 Pipework from Tank 8c to the AFT Purifier Room (Return line from the Gensys Module) with 3 Dn50 Sch80 Penetrations Sleeves + Dn40 SDNR Valve (Pipework on the AFT Purifier Room from the Module to be completed by Gensys)
  • Install Dn40 Pipework from Tank 8c for Dewatering with a Dn50 Sch80 Penetration Sleeve + 90 Degree angle Quick Closing Valve to be supplied by APM (connections from the Valve to the Sludge Tank to be completed by the Ship)
  • Install Dn65 Pipework from AFT Purifier Room Supply line to DG2 Change Over System with 1 Dn80 Sch80 Penetrations Sleeve + 1 Dn65 Spectacle Blind + 1 Dn50 Spectacle Blind (Pipework connections to the Module (Aft Purifier Room) and to the change Over Systems (AFT DG Room) to be completed by Gensys)
  • Install Pipe connections Dn65 with Spectacle Blinds on the existing Supply of DG6/DG5 (connections from Tie-in Flanges to the Change Over System to be completed by Gensys)
  • Install and connect Dn50 Pipework to integrate the Black Out Line into the new AFT ER Fuel System (Dn50 SDNR Valve to be Supplied and Installed by APM

Mechanical Installation for the MGO Fuel lines modification:

  • Set up Fabrication area, by covering the space with the necessary protection.
  • Fabricate and install cross connection (Dn80 sch 40 mild steel pipe with Dn80 Spectacle Blind) from 8 CTR MGO line to Existing HFO filling line on the Prov Compressor Room C-deck
  • Install Dn200 Spectacle Blind on the existing HFO filling line on the Prov Compressor Room, after the new Tie-in for the cross connection and Valve IF006
  • Fabricate and install cross connection (Dn100 sch 40 mild steel pipe with Spectacle Blind) from Existing HFO suction line (Aux Room D-Deck) to Existing MGO suction line on the Aft Engine Room
  • Fabricate and install 1 x bulkhead penetration between AFT engine room and Aux Room D-deck

Electrical Installation:

  1. Disconnect all electrical cables from Boiler Ignition Pump and associated cabling.
  2. Re-instate all cabling at new location from the Boiler Ignition Pump.
  3. Installation of 3c 4mm cable from MSB 690v Panel FZ/QF48000 Deck D to Gensys Control Panel.
  4. Installation of 3c 2.5mm cable from Gensys Control Panel to MGO Supply Module for Supply Pump 1.
  5. Installation of 8×0.75mm cable from Gensys Control Panel P1 to ESD Panel located in Deck A FZ2 Room FSD OA.2.88.
  6. Installation of 3c 1.5mm cable from P1 Panel to P3 Panel
  7. Installation of 2 off 7c 1.5mm cable from P1 Panel to P3 Panel
  8. Installation of 3c 4mm cable from ESB 690v Panel FZ/QF942000 Deck B to Gensys Control Panel.
  9. Installation of 3c 2.5mm cable from Gensys Control Panel to MGO Supply Module for Supply Pump 2.
  10. Installation of 8×0.75mm cable from Gensys Control Panel P2 to ESD Panel located in Deck A FZ2 Room FSD OA.2.88.
  11. Installation of 3c 1.5mm cable from P2 Panel to P3 Panel
  12. Installation of 2 off 7c 1.5mm cable from P2 Panel to P3 Panel
  13. Installation of Modbus Cable RS-485 from Gensys Control Panel P2 to Advant OCS-2 located in Aft Switch Board Deck D FZ2.
  14. Installation of1x2x0.75mm cable from Gensys Control Panel to Pressure Transmitter Supply Pump Outlet
  15. Installation of 1x2x0.75mm cable from Gensys Control Panel to Temperature Transmitter Supply Pump Outlet
  16. Installation of 2×0.75mm cable from Gensys Control Panel to Common Alarm.
  17. Installation 2 off 1x2x0.75mm cable from DG1 Changeover Valve to Gensys Control Panel P3
  18. Installation 2 off 1x2x0.75mm cable from DG2 Changeover Valve to Gensys Control Panel P3
  19. Installation 2 off 1x2x0.75mm cable from DG3 Changeover Valve to Gensys Control Panel P3
  20. Installation 2 off 1x2x0.75mm cable from DG4 Changeover Valve to Gensys Control Panel P3
  21. Installation 2 off 1x2x0.75mm cable from DG5 Changeover Valve to Gensys Control Panel P3
  22. Installation 2 off 1x2x0.75mm cable from DG6 Changeover Valve to Gensys Control Panel P3
